about me

On September 18 in the first year of coronavirus, I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer. I thank God now and always for the love and gifts He has blessed me with – for my husband and daughter, for our family and friends, for our home here in California amidst the remarkable beauty of our small coastal valley on the Monterey Bay, for the plenty and abundance that graces our lives beyond our knowing. I have lived a rich and complex life, and I am immensely grateful for every moment, every hour, every day that I have spent knowing the beauty of this world – and for the moments I continue to greet this irreplaceable Garden we please to call Earth. She has been my home, my port of call, my beacon.

These pages are dedicated to Her, and to all of you, with whom I’ve lived and whom I’ve loved, and in whose faces I see the truth of His Spirit that shines Its goodness and Its light, and offers Grace.

As a brief footnote, I hope to share that I write both poetry and prose in both Russian and English. I have translated some but not all of my work in Russian to English. As often as possible, I offer English translations of my Russian prose. At this time, most of my poems in Russian appear without translation. I will add English translations to these as time permits.
